    Understanding Inspection Reports

After completing an inspection, Lease24 generates a detailed report accessible from the Inspections list.

    Report Contents

    Each report includes:

    • Property & Unit: Address and unit identifier
    • Inspector: Name of the person who conducted the inspection
    • Attendees: Everyone present during the walkthrough
    • Date: When the inspection was performed
    • Type: Move-in, Move-out, Routine, Seasonal, or Emergency

    Room-by-Room Breakdown

    Every inspected room shows:

    • Each item with its condition rating (color-coded)
    • Notes and observations
    • Photos attached as evidence
    • Items flagged for maintenance action with priority levels

    Condition Ratings

    RatingMeaning
    ExcellentLike-new condition, no issues
    GoodNormal wear, fully functional
    FairMinor wear or cosmetic issues
    PoorSignificant wear, may need repair
    DamagedRequires immediate attention
    MissingItem not present

    Follow-Up Actions

Items marked "Requires Action" can be linked to maintenance requests directly from the report. Priority levels (Low, Medium, High, Urgent) help you triage repairs.

    Using Reports for Disputes

Move-in and move-out reports create a dated comparison record. This documentation is essential for:

    • Ontario LTB (Landlord and Tenant Board) proceedings
    • Security deposit disputes
    • Insurance claims
    • Tenant communication about pre-existing conditions
