    Editing, Messaging, and Deleting Tenants

How to update tenant info, send messages, invite tenants to the portal, and remove tenant records.

    Editing, Messaging, and Deleting Tenants

    Editing, Messaging, and Deleting Tenants

From the tenant detail page, you have several actions available to manage the tenant's record and communication.

    Editing a Tenant

Click the Edit button in the page header to open the Edit Tenant dialog. You can update:

    • First and last name
    • Email address
    • Phone number
    • Emergency contact name and phone
    • Co-tenants - Add or manage co-tenants sharing the same unit

Changes are saved immediately when you confirm the dialog.

    Sending Messages

Click Open Chat in the sidebar to start a conversation with the tenant. If a conversation already exists, it opens directly. If not, Lease24 creates a new one for you.

Note: The tenant must have a user account linked to their record for messaging to work. If they do not have one yet, you will see the onboarding card instead (see below).

    Inviting Tenants to the Portal

If a tenant does not have a Lease24 account yet, you can invite them by clicking the Invite button on the onboarding card in the sidebar. This sends an email with a link to create their portal account, where they can:

    • View their lease details
    • Make rent payments
    • Submit maintenance requests
    • Communicate with you directly

    Linking a User Account

In some cases, a tenant may already have a Lease24 account but it is not connected to their tenant record. You can link an existing user account to the tenant record from the edit dialog or the onboarding card.

    Deleting a Tenant

Click the Delete button in the page header. A confirmation dialog will appear with a warning if the tenant has an active lease. Deleting a tenant removes their record, but it does not affect any associated lease or payment history that has already been recorded.

    Exporting Tenant Data

Click Export CSV in the page header to download the tenant's information as a CSV file. This is useful for record-keeping, reporting, or importing into other systems.
